LUSH: Brightside Bubble Bar

I swear I wrote this whole post out and now it's just deleted itself somehow?! boooooooooo blogger why do you give me such a hard time? Anyhoo, I'm pleased to let you know that I have discovered yet another joy in my life from the one and only LUSH cosmetics and that is, yep you guessed it! The 'Brightside Bubble Bar'. Prior to shopping in LUSH, I had never even heard of the concept of a bubble bar so I was super excited to try out the 'French Kiss Bubble Bar' however was left a little disheartened after the poor bubble turn out. Nonetheless, I love orange scents so I always knew that this was a must have for me and after having used it a few times now, I absolutely love it and I'm so glad I didn't let that previous bad experience put me off! I suppose its easy to forget that each product is individual, no one bar looks the same as another in LUSH so I guess it was just bad luck for me but I'm pleased to say that the Brightside Bubble Bar more than met expectations so that is why I am reviewing it for you today.

The Brightside bubble bar is exactly what its name implies, bright. It is a beautiful, vibrant orange blob that encases swirls of yellow and red - yummy! I absolutely love this and it totally drew me into buying it, excited at the prospect of having a bright orange bath which, lets face it, is too cool to dismiss.

I have to say I was a tad disappointed by the smell of this product. I ordered it online and so was expecting something without having had any previous knowledge of how this product actually smelled. It isn't a horrible smell by any means, but I was expecting a fresh zingy smell. This bubble bar rather holds the scent of a hard boiled orange sweet so it does smell a little artificial in comparison to a freshly squeezed orange smell. It's different though, and I do enjoy the fact that that boiled sweet smell maintains itself throughout your bath whether there are bubbles left or not, but to be honest the bubbles for me (when using roughly a fifth of this bar at a time) were so long lasting that I always end up getting out when there is still a blanket of bubbles lying over the water.

At a cost of £4.50, the Brightside Bubble Bar is one of Lush's more expensive bath products, however when you consider that you can get 5-6 uses out of this baby that's equivalent to 90p (ish) per bath, that's nothing in comparison to a £3.25 bath using one of their bath bombs. Also, this thing is huge, it's VERY thick, far thicker than any of the bubble bars that I've seen in LUSH which is a tad strange as they're all roughly the same price but ah well, I'm not complaining! :P

In my opinion this bubble bar is definitely worth the price as its pretty, it smells good, its a great size for the price and you only need to use a little bit at a time in order to get an average amount of bubbles. If you like mountains of bubbles perhaps you're looking more realistically at 4 uses per bar so either way you can get good use out of this bar. I definitely recommend that you at least go and give it a sniff next time you're in!

I really hope you are having a wonderful day wherever you are! :)
