Current Film Favourites

Hey everyone! So leading on from my 'Movie Night Essentials' post that I Blogged a few days ago (link), I thought it would be a fun idea to share with you some of my favourite films to watch right now! I never used to be a big movie watcher at all. I used to get bored so easily, and I'm definitely the type of person that needs to be doing at least three things at once otherwise I just can't sit still! This year though, I made a point of buying more DVD's and exploring some new genres, as well as revisiting some ol' favourites; and I have to say I really enjoy now just snuggling up and enjoying a good film on a chilly afternoon. So lets hop right into it... (*Edit: In advance, I apologise for getting a little too philosophical aha)

1) Legally Blonde (< link) - Oh my goodness I forgot just how much I love this film! Whilst it's filled with lots of fun and light-hearted humour, I do think it also projects an important message. People may judge you in life, feel that you shouldn't be doing something or ought not to belong somewhere, but you know what? With hard work and perseverance, you can be whoever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. Don't let other people try and push you down, and always stay true to yourself!

2) Miss Congeniality (< link) - This is definitely one of my all time favourites. It ties in with the message projected by Legally Blonde, but from the opposite perspective I feel. I myself have witnessed it before, where people look down on others who show more interest in handbags and clothes than they do perhaps books or video games or something (I know, I don't get it either). Once again, it just reaffirms: don't judge a book by its covers. It's only once you move past your initial presumptions that you can really start to see the person within. I wonder how many people a person would have made friends with if they had just shoo'd those judgemental thoughts away and rather gotten to know them instead!

3) E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (< link) - YES. I FINALLY HAVE THIS IN MY POSSESSION AGAIN! I lent this DVD to a friend years back and she never gave it back, lent it to another and they never gave it back either! So I have purchased it yet again and it is sure as hell not going to anyone else that's for sure! I just think that E.T. is one of those classics that will forever remain one of the most ultimate films of all time. I really hope it never gets remade either. Once again, it ties in with that theme that we can find friendship and love in the most unexpected of places, we just have to be open to it and embrace the opportunity when it comes.

& that's it for today! I think that this is definitely going to beome a little series on my Blog as I think it's a fun thing to talk about and I hope you guys enjoy it too! Please do let me know what films you've been loving recently in the comments too! <3
