Hey everyone! Firstly, let me apologise for the photo on this one. Sometimes it doesn't matter how good your camera is, or what editing software you use, you just can't get some things to look pretty. Especially when they look kinda like little pointy fingers, haha! The Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream was my go-to eye cream for quite a long while (years), and today I'm going to share with you why that was, and why it no longer is.
Just like the majority of eye creams, The Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, calm puffiness, and to help combat dark circles - all whilst leaving the eye area nourished and smooth. When I first started using this eye cream, I saw a lot of benefits straight away. My under-eye area did look smoother and plumper, and it gradually helped slightly reduce the appearance of my dark circles - hurrah! This was the first time I had ever used an eye cream though, so I never really had anything else to compare it to. Either way, it did what I wanted it to do, and it's light formula was absolutely perfect for my oily skin.
What I love most about the Vitamin E eye cream is that it's a very light, fragrance-free basic moisturiser that's perfect if you are perhaps a little younger and/or if you don't really need anything too heavy duty. It's not too heavy - but still gets some moisture in there. I also love the packaging too, as it's a lot more hygienic and easier to manage application than a pot for example. Plus, it's great for travelling! I'd say you need a pea sized amount of this cream for both eyes, especially if you're planning on wearing an under eye concealer; and I've found that the little 15ml tubes last a very very long time which is just fantastic! One thing I would say though is that the Vitamin E eye cream can separate in the tube if you neglect it for a while, but if you make sure to give it a shake before use it's absolutely fine and despite separation, I have never noticed a reduction in it's quality.
Overall, I'd say this is an ok eye cream. It isn't jaw dropping fabulous, nor is it terrible. It gets the job done, it did have a noticeable effect on my under eye circles after a few weeks of regular use which is just fabulous. In conclusion I'd say that The Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream possesses a beautifully light texture which I'm sure anyone who is new to eye creams, or who suffers from oily skin would greatly appreciate and see the benefits of. The only reason why I won't be repurchasing this eye cream any time soon is that since my days of loving this cream, my skin has turned extremely dry, and so I have bought something a lot more hydrating and intensive (haul coming up soon) to replace it. Therefore, I would not recommend this eye cream if you do suffer from drier skin, as I think you'll be needing something a lot more nourishing.
Have you tried The Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream before? If so, what did you think? I'd love to know.
