10 Things I Love About Winter

Hey everyone! So if you follow me on Twitter (@HannahDelacour4), you will know I've had the ultimate stressful day and I'm definitely not in a good mood (to say the least, haha!). HOWEVER, I'm not going to let other people ruin my day so I decided to try and focus my thoughts on things I like about this time of year for today's Blogmas post, and I encourage you all to do the same in the comments! Lets surround ourselves with happy things, and talk about what it is that we love about this time of year. :)

1) Scarves
I love scarves. Scarves are my jam. Scarves are my life. In all honesty I wear scarves all year around, but there's nothing that beats wearing a big, overwhelmingly cosy scarf when you want to snuggle up in the cold! I recently ordered a few from Topshop too so it's all scarves galore in my room right now haha!

2) Freshly tumble dried clothes (preferably pyjama bottoms)
As a child, I remember my mum always throwing the freshly tumble dried washing over me and ever since; that instant feeling of warmth just feels so comforting - especially when it's bloody freezing out! Trust me: there is nothing better than putting on a pair of pyjama bottoms when they're fresh out the drier. If you haven't already tried this - DO IT. DO IT NOWWW!

3) Custard, with everything
I'd say that custard is also my jam... but it's not jam, it's custard. That's a whole different league. I love love looooove custard! Once again it just ties in beautifully with that warming, cosy feeling that we all need during these Winter months, and I mean, come on...It's C.U.S.T.A.R.D!

4) Spiced soup
To be honest, I'm not sure I really like spiced soup but I'm trying to like it more. Even if I don't eat it - just the thought of spiced soup feels so Autumnal and festive to me... anybody else get that?! I miss Autumn... I want Autumn back. Why can't it be Autumn all year round??

5) The smell of cinnamon and pine popping up everywhere
Yaaaaaaaas is all I can say! As I've gotten older I've become a lot more attracted to richer, spicier scents so I've been especially loving the increase in cinnamon and pine infested air recently. It's definitely getting me in the Christmas mood - that's for sure!

6) Fresh air
Bit of an odd one, but if you follow me on Snapchat you'll know that I walk a lot (a lot a lot), almost on a daily basis. I find the crisp, fresh air to be so refreshing and stimulating - particularly in the mornings - and I've been enjoying my walks a lot more as a result. I'm left with a face that looks like it's been slapped by a seal, but I'm also left feeling determined and invigorated, ready for the day ahead. If I can walk through that cold... I can do anything right?! aha

7) Crunchy leaves
I have yet to find a true crunchy leaf, but oh my goodness there's nothing more satisfying than stepping on a nice, crisp leaf during a morning walk. ahhhh crunchy leaves where are you??!

8) Darker evenings
I know that this one will prove a little controversial as I know a loooot of people don't like the darker evenings. Whilst I do appreciate the lighter evenings during summer, I've found that the darker noon has really helped me to get to sleep so much better, and I generally feel a lot more relaxed in the evenings as a result of it too which is just fabulous.

9) BATH SEASON IS HERE!
I'm one of those people that likes my baths near scolding hot, so I don't usually have many baths during the warmer weather. I am soooo excited now that the temperature has finally got to the point where I can break into my long loved, long-sniffed Lush stash! (Expect lots of reviews and photos coming your way!)

10) The build up to Christmas
Whenever people ask me what it is that I love about Christmas, the thing that falls at the top of my list is always that general feel of excitement and joy in the air. I'm happier because I have something to look forward to, and even strangers in the street are far more friendly and bubbly around this time of year which I always miss once mid January has gone by. The fairy lights too. The fairy lights are EVERYTHING.

Ah, see! Writing something so simple has already put me in a far better mood. Phew. What things do you love about Winter?
