How are we already half way through the yeaaaaaar? Where does all the time gooooooooo? Before we know it it'll be Christmasssss (Not that I'm complaining all too much about that one, let's be honest). In all seriousness though I really can't believe how quickly time has flown. Nevertheless, whilst the Summer isn't usually my favourite thing in the world (no thanks heat), I have to say that the longer days and sunnier weather really has had a beneficial effect on my mental and physical health this past month. I feel somewhat revitalised, motivated and excited for the months ahead. It has also got me very excited about rediscovering or testing out some more summer-friendly skincare and make-up items also, so I thought it would be a fun idea to take a look at what I've been reaching for and loving lately!
Caudalie 100% Organic Grape Water Spray (link) This is one of those things where I used to believe it would prove totally pointless in my skincare routine and just for use in general. I mean... a water spray? come on. If you currently think the same, well listen to me now because I can honestly say, hand on heart, that this is one of the best things I've added into my skincare routine and I really wish I had given it a chance sooner. Due to the fine nature of it's spray, the Caudalie grape water disperses enough moisture across your face so that it can be quickly absorbed into the skin, adding that extra 'oomph' effect to your moisturiser and/or serum, or by simply helping to replenish your skin when you're feeling a little tired or spending a long day under the summer sun for example. I really didn't think such a simple product would make such a difference to the quality of my skin, but after having used this little beauty for a few month now I really have noticed that not only has my skins hydration dramatically improved, but as a result it also looks and feels so much more plump, fresh and energised - even in the drying summer heat. Caudalie also have a deal running right now where if you sign up to their newsletter, you get 10% off your purchase so I suppose now would be the time to give it a go! Strongly recommend.
'Emotional Agility' by Susan David (link) This is just one of those books where I have, and will continue to recommend it to anybody and everybody I meet. I was very kindly sent this by Penguin Random House as they saw that I am a sufferer of anxiety. Before delving in I thought that this would be one of those 'Mindfulness' books directed at offering tips to help relieve some of the symptoms of anxiety, but this is so much more than that. I'd state that anybody who wants to understand themselves better, understand how they place themselves within the world around them, and those whom want to improve upon that and even feel happier within themselves - this is the book to read. I will be sure to write a full review on this when I eventually get through it, however it is taking me quite a while as I keep having to stop to bookmark and write note of some of the beautiful language Susan David uses, and I must highlight here her unique talent in being able to awaken those thought processes in my mind that I wasn't even sure I knew I could unravel.
Fleur de Force by Eylure 'Simply Fleur' lashes (link) In short - I never used to wear lashes before this past month but you know what? My eyelashes suck, and I love the way a little bit of lash assistance can just totally open up my eyes and transform how awake I look and even feel. What I love most about the 'Simply Fleur' lashes by Fleur de Force is that you really can not tell that you're wearing lashes - and I think that says a lot coming from a lash newbie. They look 100% natural too and I haven't had any problems with them coming loose or mishapen after a few uses using the Eylure glue that's included in the box. All in all - a pair of fabulous lashes that I'll definitely be stocking up on for long term use!
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre (link) Since my parents bought me this for my 21st birthday last year, it has been a must-have scent for me. Whilst I grab this throughout the year and love using it no matter what the season, I've just been reaching for this so much more now that Sping and Summer are here and I still can't get over what a wonderfully mature, get humble scent this is. Usually I find the Chanel fragrance range a little too over empowering for my taste, but Chance Eau Tendre is one that I feel everyone should at least try a sample of at least.
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydratior (link) Just as I was coming to the end of my first pot of this little beauty, I was very kindly gifted a replacement pot when I attended the Debenhams Beauty #DestinationGlow event and I have to say, if I wasn't I would have been buying my second before being left with the torment of running out that's for sure. The reason why I mention that here is that, even though I've been absolutely in love with using the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser as a simple day time moisturiser, I was actually surpised to learn of the other ways through which this product can be used from the fabulous Lee who is the lead consultant of the Covent Garden branch. I will be writing a post focusing solely on this moisturiser near future to help express how well it's been working for my skin, so make sure to stay tuned if you're looking for a light, yet deeply hydrating moisturiser for the summer months ahead! Get up to 20% off when you buy at Look Fantastic (as linked) and also receive a free gift worth £40 with any two Clinique purchases.
I really hope that you're all having a good week, and please do make sure to let me know if you've ever tried out any of these products before and your thoughts on them in the comments below!
